Kim Yeong-Hwan

Abstract
This study is to analyze the utilization of naturopathy among patients and healthy persons and to find factors influencing their use of the therapy. A survey on the utilization of naturopathy was carried from a sample of 669 people in total consisting of 307 patients and 362 healthy persons living around the capital regions. the utilization rate of naturopathy by the patients was 62.9%, which is higher than the rate of 58.0% by healthy persons. The trends show that patients mostly seek naturopathy via herbal treatment, while healthy persons use the body-mind therapy. They also show that patients with chronic degenerative disease use naturopathy treatment more commonly than those with non-chronic diseases. The study shows that naturopathy treatment is highly effective while side effects are minimal. The study shows that the longer the treatment period and the larger the expenses, the more effective the treatment is. Naturopathy is found to be practiced widely to treat diseases and to maintain a healthy life.
